this affordable hotel offers a lot of clean and nice rooms. the staff are good and super, the location is brilliant. there are eateries and bars walking distance to the venue.

Stayed in big room with breakfast. The hotel was placed in the central location convenient to take trams & buses for sightseeing.

The rooms at Smile Hotel Hakodate were simple and cozy, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The free Wi-Fi kept us connected, and the desk provided a convenient workspace. We loved having our own private bathroom, complete with a shower/tub combo and a hairdryer.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the slippers provided in the room. But hey, that's just my opinion!

The hotel's position was great and super walking distance to eateries and bars. By the way, hills and mountains were walking distance to the place.

Fairly clean, well priced hotel with great location to various tourist places. Location so close to day market as well as the area up a big hill where there is a cable ride.

The receptionist did not notice that my package included breakfast. When I returned and asked him to confirm, he looked suspicious and confused. He eventually gave me the breakfast coupons, but did not apologize. My impression is that most Japanese are very polite, but I didn't feel respected in this case.

The hotel had an excellent location, just a short walk from the train station and tram station, making it very convenient to travel around the city. The breakfast provided was delicious, with a good variety of Japanese dishes to choose from. the staff were kind and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable.

The size of the rooms, which were a bit small, especially for couples. Another issue was the shared hot water system in the bathroom, where only one person could use the water at a time.

Great location and good value. It was great that we could leave our bags at the hotel until our departure time.

The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and other forms of public transportation. This made it easy for us to explore the city and visit the various tourist attractions. the staff were friendly and accommodating, providing us with helpful recommendations and information about the area.

They were quite uncomfortable and we could feel the springs through the thin mattress. This made it difficult for us to get a good night's sleep during our romantic escape.
